Seasons Change

There are many reasons to like the fall season. In addition time being born on the fall, I also like all the rust, yellows and green colors that cover the trees. The trees changing colors are a sign of change which is good. Change is not easy and sometimes feels anything but good, but as nature shows us it is necessary. I challenge you to be like nature and allow change to happen on your life, at least seasonally which is quarterly. Change your hair, add a new color to your home or wardrobe. Things things can enhance your life and recharge your energy.

My Birthday celebration of life!

September is the month that I celebrate myself. I am always emphasizing the stories of other women and their journeys. Since my birthday is September 6 decided to celebrate  life because some did not make it to see another year.  I am simply blessed to be a successful business woman, a wife, a mother of two and a last semester year student at Spelman College. I have managed to be a full time student while running my life. Since I have been living such a structured life i decided to let my hair down and have a series of events for my birthday. The events started with my family and I meeting my friend and her family for a day of basketball at Phillips Arena in Atlanta. We cheered for Atlanta Dream although they were playing against my home team of the Connecticut. It was a WNBa league and it was inspiring to see those women create the opportunities for girls to know that in addition to everything else they can do in life, they can also be a professional basketball player in the states. After the family time at the game we then had a gathering at Rooftop 866 at the Renaissance Hotel.I had a Ball. On my actual birthday I went out with a friend and had lunch at Benihanna’s which is always delicious. I really enjoyed the idea that Benihanna’s has a birthday program where they send you a 30.00 coupon as a birthday gift. The final celebration was on Sunday at the Warren City Club in The Virginia Highlands. I wanted to do something different so we had a “Big Hats and Bowtie Brunch” that everyone enjoyed. Myself along with 25 friends and family sipped on Mimosas while we laughed, caught up on life and grazed over some delicious breakfast. I have had an eventful B-day full of events, however  I think that I will be traveling as a celebration for my graduation celebration in May 2013.
