New Hair and Naturally Glam for 2014

When it comes to my hair I am constantly changing my look. One reason is because I am a Hairstylist and I love reinvention of hair and fashion. Another reason is because I am always looking for something fly, sexy and that I can wake up looking the same way. I enjoy having low maintenance hair. I, like most of my clients also like workout friendly hair. So after my gym visit last night I decided to spend the time and create this look that I have been envisioning for some time now.
Two hours and a episode of Martin:) a masterpiece was created. here are some quick selfie shots of my new creation. I call it “Textured Fusion Latching” which takes 2.5 hours to complete. It is one of the best “protective styles” that I have had thus far. The shampoo, condition treatment, added hair, style and shaping are included. The intro rate for this style is 175.00. It last for 8 -10 weeks with bi-weekly maintenance. This style can be done in a large array of shapes like an inverted bob fro, short and long layers, textured pixie fro, and tapered fro hawks etc.

The Creative

Last night I watched Kanye on the Jimmy Kimmel show. I am tired of seeing Kanye in certain situations, as I am sure he is tired as well. In a nut shell, I really respect what he was saying. I respect it because I am a creative. I am a hairstylist slash slash slash. I am at my best when I am able to innovate and create. I have made a film, decorated homes, designed clothes, jewelry and style. I even design the food I prepare and cook.
I believe that we should stop putting ourselves in a box! Do what makes your heart beat. Learn to please yourself instead of everyone, even if you are in the back of the class by yourself. Sing, dance, love, create and be naturally radiant!

Count your Blessings!

My family and I went to Chicago this weekend. This was not a leisure trip, it was a business trip. Yes I am a entrepreneur, senior at Spelman College, mother or two, wifey and a filmmaker/ writer //////:) but this trip was about other business. It was the business of education. My hubby is prepping for his medical residency in Chicago! Therefore we went to an open house for schools for the kids. My baby girl will be in high school and my prince will be going to grade 7. We had the great opportunity of touring Whitney Young Highschool. I am so impressed!!! I was mostly excited the exposure that tour exposed the kids to. Such an amazing experience.
I will be blogging and blogging the process The Smith Family adventure. I graduate From Spelman College in May 2013, and my princess Shina graduates from middle school at the same time, what a blessing!Chase will be transitioning to 7 th and my Hubby will be closer to living his dream of being Dr. Smith. This process thus far hasn’t been a easy task but necessary when striving for excellence is important in your life! Push until it happens, When meritocracy is mot enough for you date to dream! I hope that this documentary will inspire you to take that next step!

Seasons Change

There are many reasons to like the fall season. In addition time being born on the fall, I also like all the rust, yellows and green colors that cover the trees. The trees changing colors are a sign of change which is good. Change is not easy and sometimes feels anything but good, but as nature shows us it is necessary. I challenge you to be like nature and allow change to happen on your life, at least seasonally which is quarterly. Change your hair, add a new color to your home or wardrobe. Things things can enhance your life and recharge your energy.
